Work as a Teacher for GEOS VictoriaGEOS Language Academy, Victoria, is a great place at which to learn English. It is also a great place to work and to teach at. GEOS offers a very professional working environment, solid administrative support, professional facilities and resources, and training/advancement opportunities. With schools throughout Canada and the USA, GEOS Victoria also offers you the ability to travel and teach throughout our network of ESL schools. GEOS Victoria's ESL programs are accredited by Languages Canada. For our ESL programs to be Languages Canada accredited, all of our ESL teachers must be certified by TESL Canada, meaning that they must possess a Bachelor's Degree and a teaching certificate in ESL from a certified institution; or, they must have attended, and be able to document, that their TESL program contained at least 100 hours of theory and 20 hours of practicum. Unfortunately, teaching experience in another country can not replace these criteria. If you have both a Bachelor's Degree and a ESL teaching certificate, you may send your CV to academics@geosvictoria.com. You may also certainly drop off your CV in person at the school - we will be happy to greet you - but we are not able to meet individually with potential teachers who do wish to visit. When GEOS Victoria requires teachers, we will hold an orientation session for potential teachers. Following this session, we will call in qualified candidates for a short meeting to discuss the school, the company, and current teaching opportunities. After that, we will invite teachers for a short 20-minute model lesson, followed by an interview. Although we do receive many resumes from teachers currently living and working in other cities and countries, we are not able to hire directly without this model lesson and face-to-face interview. If you are interested in the JET program, feel free to contact or visit the school as we have this information available, sent to us by the Japanese consulate in Vancouver. Our Evening Japanese program is a great way to study and learn Japanese in preparation for your trip to Japan.

![]() I have taken GEOS High School Preparation Program. I have learned a lot of things and have been supported by a lot of people through my high school life in Victoria. Needless to say, one of my supporters was GEOS Victoria. For the first 5 months, I went to GEOS to prepare for studying at a local high school. I studied not only English but also Math, Chemistry and so on. During that time, I met people with different backgrounds so I felt culture shock; however, I eventually found out it was fun to see cultural differences. I was able to prepare for my studies before I went to high school so I did not fall behind. When I entered high school, I still kept studying private lessons at GEOS. I disliked studying because everything was very tough but the tutors taught me how to study. Thanks to them, I learned the pleasure of studying. They were very kind and taught me patiently and in detail all of the time until I got to understand. I was very happy when I was able to understand the problem which I had not been able to do by myself. I have learned a lot in 3 years. Thank you so much GEOS and Victoria. I'd like to make good use of this experience for my university life in the U.S. Haruna Japan |
