Victoria is a friendly, medium-sized city. Victoria 's British history can be seen in the architecture and many great pubs and tea shops. We have the oldest Chinatown in Canada - great for shopping. The Inner Harbour is always busy with street entertainment

There are approximately 300,000 people in living in Victoria .

Warm, sunny summers (average temp. 24
°C) Mild winters with no snow! (average temp. 3 °C)

4. What can I do on the weekend?           TOP

Shopping, skiing, snowboarding, pubs, restaurants, whale watching, museums, movies, ice-skating, curling, go to the library to study English, swimming, YMCA - aerobics, in-line skating (roller blading), cycling, brewery tour, other tourist sites, hiking, etc

Vancouver is only 28 minutes away by plane or 90 minutes away by ferry. Seattle is 20 minutes away by plane or about 120 minutes away by ferry.

Students can join our Volunteer Club and volunteer at festivals, hospitals, with children or with seniors.

7. Where can I get information about jobs?           TOP

We have a Job Partnership program to help students find work in Victoria. Students can work at restaurants, retail stores, travel agencies, hotels and more.
Students are required to have a valid Working Holiday visa in order to participate in this program

8. Can I go to a Canadian college or university after GEOS?           TOP

We have a Pathway Program to help students go to Canadian post-secondary schools. Students who graduate from our level 6 C.E.P. Program can go to several colleges and they do not need to sit a TOEFL
® exam.
